Box Volume Calculator

Calculate the net internal volume of a subwoofer enclosure accounting for speaker displacement, port volume, and internal bracing. Enter your external dimensions and displacement values to find the net volume available for acoustic loading.

Calculation Method

The net volume is calculated by:

  1. Converting external dimensions to internal dimensions by subtracting 2× material thickness from each dimension
  2. Calculating internal (gross) volume from internal dimensions
  3. Subtracting all displacements (speaker, port, bracing) to get net volume

Net volume is the critical parameter for enclosure design calculations. It represents the air volume available to acoustically load the speaker driver.
